Physio File - Reo-coker Is Withdrawn From U-21s

NIGEL Reo-Coker has been withdrawn from the England U-21 squad following the knock he picked up against West Brom on Saturday. Nigel was already carrying an injury going into the game but felt he was fit enough to play. After a heavy tackle in the first-half however Nigel did not re-appear after the break. He had an MRI scan yesterday which showed some heavy bruising on his ankle as a result of the tackle. Nigel will be monitored over the next few days but currently remains a doubt for the next fixture away to Tottenham Hotspur.

Roy Carroll had an ultrasound carried out on his knee yesterday and had some fluid drained from the injured area. As things remain and he continues to progress as he is, Roy will be fit and in contention for the Spurs match.

Shaka Hislop was seen by the doctor after getting a knock to his head on Saturday and suffering dizzy spells. He has been given the all-clear and has travelled out with the Trinidad and Tobago team for their World Cup play-off game.

Yossi Benayoun is receiving treatment for a thigh strain and Matty Etherington for a knee sprain but both are expected to be fully fit for the next fixture.
