Pards Happy With Home Start

Alan Pardew admits he is delighted with the news that West Ham will kick off their Premiership campaign with a home clash against Blackburn Rovers.

In his very first match as a top flight manager, the Hammers boss will go head to head with Mark Hughes - an opponent from the greatest game of his playing career, when he played for Crystal Palace against Manchester United in the 1990 FA Cup final.

Alan said: "We´re absolutely delighted to be back in the Premiership and starting our campaign with a home match.

"Our fans thoroughly deserve that and we look forward to the arrival of Blackburn Rovers, who finished strongly last season.

"One thing is for sure, Upton Park will be jumping on August 13."

More reaction to Hammers´ 2005-06 fixtures will follow later...
