Hammers Deny Brooking Return

WEST Ham United would like to make clear that there is no truth whatsoever in the story, which appeared in a Sunday tabloid, suggesting that the Club is trying to tempt Sir Trevor Brooking to return as caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Sir Trevor and his family are hugely supportive of the Club and attend as many West Ham United games as possible. They are always welcome by the Directors and Alan Pardew, who has built a close friendship with Sir Trevor since taking over as manager at Upton Park.

The Club continues to support fully the work of Alan Pardew and his coaching staff as West Ham United pushes for promotion.

Sir Trevor Brooking said: "This story is unfair to West Ham United, Alan Pardew and myself. We have a new Chief Executive at the FA, Brian Barwick, and this is a very important time for him and myself. I am presently looking to obtain investment to develop the grass roots coaching structure of football in this country.

"To suggest that I could cope with two very demanding jobs is absolutely ludicrous."
