Bobby's Blackburn Tricks

BOBBY Zamora hit the back of the net again for Hammers at Blackburn. But even his second goal in two games was not enough to replace the striker's disappointment at seeing his team go down 3-2 at Ewood Park.

He said: "Blackburn's a tough place to go. You know what you are going to get against them, they compete for everything and make it really difficult.

"We managed to get a goal at the end of the first-half even though we probably weren't at our best. But the penalty decision in the second-half was tough on us.

"That goal was crucial, it got Blackburn right back in the game. It was disappointing because we had one up the other end that looked to hit their player on the arm but wasn't given.

"We kept going and probably deserved something out of the game, but it wasn't to be.

"Blackburn are renowned for their tricks and it worked for them. They know how to get people booked and how to wind the other team up.

"But that's over for us now and we've got to move and look towards Wednesday's game as a chance to come back from that."

The opening strike against Blackburn proved to be quite a significant milestone for the club as well as Bobby. It was West Ham United's 5000th league goal!

"It was great to get on the scoresheet again," he added. "Marlon played a great ball through to me and thankfully I managed to put it away.

"It was good to be able to set up Marlon for his goal in the second-half as well. The last couple of games we've managed to put a couple away between us and hopefully we can keep that going, starting at Goodison Park."
