Rufus' Golden Hour

Rufus Brevett successfully completed an hour of his reserve team come back on Tuesday evening.

Says Roger Cross of Rufus, whose foot injury has ruled him out since August:

"He played an hour, which is a real bonus, and he did well."

As to whether he could be ready for the playoffs, he adds:

"It is a bit early to be talking about that, but who knows?"

West Ham lost 3-0 to the second placed team in the division, causing a 13 match unbeaten run to come to an end.

"There goes the run," says Roger, "and we can't finish second now - but they played well, they were better than us, and they deserved it.

"It has been a really good run, but it wasn't to be tonight, though we had a few chances to get back into the game - which we didn't take.

"I had a feeling that if we had got a goal we would have made a real game of it - but we couldn't find a way through."
