Kevin: Sign Here

Kevin Horlock says he thoroughly enjoyed the club's Open Day on Thursday - and admits to being a bit of an autograph hunter himself!

Kevin, in common with his colleagues, signed autographs for three hours at Upton Park, and he says:

"The fans stick by you through thick and thin and it is important to give a bit back, so it was nice for them to go behind the scenes and get some autographs.

"I have done it myself as a kid, collecting autographs, and it is pretty strange being the one asked for them.

"If it makes a kid smile then it is well worth it.

"I have got some good autographs myself - including Bobby Moore's."

Looking back at the Fulham game in which he was restored to the side after not travelling to Bradford, he says:

"You have got to go along with that and it was nice to get the chance in the FA cup.

"I realise it is going to be difficult to get into the team with all these new players coming in but I will keep working hard, get my head down, and when my chance comes I will take it.

"I'd like to think I did reasonably well at Fulham but it is down to the manager - he picks the team to win games and if I am not in that then I will still be pleased as long as West Ham are winning.

"There are players coming back now and it is a difficult decision for the manager - but probably one he enjoys.

"We played really well against Fulham, we felt, and it was a really good chance to win the game there without having to go to a replay, but we do and that's that.

"We have got some good results lately so it was important we didn't lose at Fulham and it keeps things going."

Are Norwich a class apart from West Ham so far ahead at the top of the first division?

"I don't think so," insists Kevin, "though obviously the league says that - and they are where we want to be.

"If we play well we are capable of beating anyone and Norwich are in that category as well; but we are looking for the three points."

As for the FA cup draw against Manchester United away as the reward for the winners of Tuesday's replay, he adds:

"You are perhaps looking at a kinder draw coming this far but at the end of the day if you want to win it you have to beat the best so if we beat Fulham it is a great day out for the fans."
