ALAN Pardew admits that he is keen to prolong on-loan defender Chris Powell's stay at Upton Park, after the Charlton player has impressed during his month long loan with the Hammers.
Chris will be available for the home match against Leeds United next Friday, but Alan insists that he would like the former England international to remain at Upton Park beyond that date.
"I've been really impressed with Chris," admitted Alan. "He's an excellent professional and has done really well for us since he came in. Chris is a very solid defender, but can also get forward from full-back and offers us a good attacking option on that side as well.
"He's a player we would like to take for a longer period, but as it stands Chris is a Charlton player and we'll have to wait and see what happens next week."
Alan is also keeping a close eye on Yeovil Town's highly-rated midfielder Gavin Williams, but admits that it is too early to say whether he will be joining the Club.
"We have been tracking Gavin for a long period of time," explained Pards, "and he's certainly a player that we like. We've been in contact with Yeovil Town, but nothing has been agreed yet, and at the moment we are just exploring the possibility of a deal."
Merthyr Tydfill born midfielder, Gavin, joined Yeovil from Hereford United in May 2002. The 24-year-old helped them to the Conference Championship in his first season at the Club.
