Marlon: The Team's The Thing

Marlon Harewood is up and running on the goal scoring front - but insists his priority is helping the side win.

Marlon grabbed a brace against Southend on Tuesday and says:

"Any striker should feel good when they get their first couple of goals; it means I go into the next game confident of getting more.

"But as long as we win games, I am not bothered if I score; if we win the game, and I don't get one, my head won't go down.

"If we didn't, and I had chances to score, then it definitely would.

"I am just hoping it carries on for me, but as long as I am winning games I don't care who scores."

Norwich have been the latest club to be linked with Marlon, and Alan Pardew admits to fielding phone calls about his availability with a polite 'no, thanks' - and he says:

"It is nice to be wanted, but I am a West Ham player - and happy here."

Now Marlon is hoping the side goes on a run and concludes:

"Every game is a big game in this division and we just have to keep winning."

Although fellow striker Bobby Zamora is not back yet, Matthew Etherington, Anton Ferdinand, and Hayden Mullins are all back after missing the Southend game.

Steve Lomas returns to the squad as well, but Andy Melville and of course Christian Dailly remain on the injured list.
