West Ham 'reserves' beat Peterborough 6-0 in a behind-closed-doors friendly at Chadwell Heath on Tuesday afternoon.

Shaun Byrne [2], Sam Wright, Brian Deane, and Mark Noble [2] were the scorers.

Says Roger Cross:

"It was an excellent run-out for the lads and they played some real good football - fantastic stuff.

"We didn't want to go another week without a game and there was no reserve fixture this week.

"It is good that Elliot Ward got another game under his belt.

"It was important for Brian Deane to get a run-out, as he has only been playing a bit part for the first team at the moment, and he had 45 minutes.

"Hutch played about 70 minutes and was very good."

Australian trialists Jade North and Wayne Srhoj both played and Roger adds:

"They did well; they have to go back tomorrow for international duty and Alan has had a look at them."

TEAM: Forde, North, Blewitt [Laws], Srhoj, Ward, Lumsden, Noble [Wright], Byrne, Deane [Carrick], Hutchison [Bunce], McMahon.

Subs unused: Tattam, Reid.
