Carry On, Trevor

Trevor Brooking says he is more than happy to carry on as West Ham's caretaker manager for the foreseeable future.

Lawyers representing Reading were at the High Court on Wednesday, having issued proceedings against Alan Pardew, but the case was adjourned until Thursday.

"There is a court hearing today," confirms Trevor, "which can have two or three different scenarios.

"But unless they throw it out and say there is no case to answer it might go on a little while longer - so it looks as if I will be there on Saturday in Kent."

Trevor is typically unflappable about the situation and adds: "I don't mind. I always said I would prefer it to be sorted out sooner rather than later, mainly because it gives the incoming person that much longer and the opportunity to do what they feel they would like to do.

"But I have also said that there is no point in putting any pressure on ourselves.

"From my point of view it is a case of clearing things and carrying on until the situation develops - but I don't think it will be months, just weeks."
