Club Statement: Titi Camara

West Ham United Football Club can confirm that its former employee Titi Camara has issued proceedings in the High Court, claiming damages for alleged breach of contract.

Titi Camara was a West Ham United player from December 2000 until June 2003, when his contract was terminated by mutual consent. A formal Compromise Agreement to this effect is in place.

West Ham United's Company Secretary and Head of Legal, Scott Duxbury said: "We are saddened that our association with a player has been soured by what we believe is a financially motivated action.

"To date, no proceedings have been formally served so we are unable to comment on specific allegations. However, from the details that we have so far been given the Club believes this action to be wholly without merit and we will vigorously defend any proceedings that are ultimately served.

"The Club will make no further comment until, and unless, proceedings are served."
