Match Report - Southampton Reserves V West Ham Reserves - 26 Aug 2003

Tony Carr took the reserves to Southampton on Tuesday, witnessing a 2-1 defeat.

Daryl McMahon scored West Ham's consolation goal with a late penalty.

"They had a lot of experienced players that made a difference and for us it was more or less the U19 squad that had to play, but it was nice to play at St. Marys even though we weren't quite good enough to make more impact than we did," he says.

"But we worked very hard and defended very well but they had probably the better players on the park to make the difference."
