Boys Of 86 Back In Action!

This weekend's Nationwide First Division match may have been postponed due to the international action, but Hammers fans can still watch a West Ham team in action, by heading down to Heybridge Swifts Football Club to see the record-breaking 1985-86 side team up again!

That's right, the likes of Tony Cottee, Frank McAvennie, Phil Parkes, Alvin Martin and Tony Gale are dusting down their boots and squeezing into their kits this Sunday, September 7, to take part in a charity match against a Heybridge Swifts XI at the Ryman League club's Scraley Road ground.

On a fun-filled day of entertainment in leafy Essex, the Boys of '86 will kick-off against their opponents at 11.30am, although the fun starts at 10.30am, when 'Netbusters' will be providing a number of themed family football games throughout the day.

Refreshments and catering will also be on offer all day, while Essex Air Ambulance will be in attendance and a donation from the proceeds will be donated to this worthy cause. There will also be an auction of West Ham memorabilia after the game.

The Boys of '86 team has been confirmed as : Phil Parkes, Steve Potts, George Parris, Tony Gale, Alvin Martin, Alan Devonshire, Mark Ward, Frank McAvennie, Alan Dickens, Tony Cottee, Geoff Pike. Subs: Neil Orr, Allen McKnight, Paul Hilton, Greg Campbell, Bobby Barnes, Perry Fenwick (Eastenders' Billy Mitchell).

Admission is available on the day priced at £10 for adults, £5 for juniors and senior citizens and £20 for a family ticket.
