Roger: Reserves Unlucky

West Ham reserves were unlucky to lose 2-1 to Spurs on Wednesday night, says coach Roger Cross.

"Despite the defeat I was pleased with the spirit of the team," he insists, "against a strong Tottenham side - and I feel the least we deserved was a draw.

"In the second half we took the game to them but we had three goals disallowed in the first half, one of which denied us a beautifully worked move following four or five passes which Greg Pearson tucked away beautifully.

"He and Youssef Sofiane came close to scoring the equaliser late in the second half, but I wouldn't single anyone out - it was a good team performance, especially in the second spell."

Darren Blewitt scored West Ham's goal while Acimovic and Zamora [a West Ham fan? Perhaps we will never know] scored for Spurs.

TEAM: Bywater, McLenehan, Tattam, Byrne, Lumsden, Blewitt, Sofiane, Noble D [Noble M, 59], Garcia, Pearson, McMahon.
