Alan's Hope

Alan Pardew prefers that injuries start to clear up rather than relying on bringing in more players as he looks ahead to the next run of games.

While the injury to Neil Mellor is obviously a disappointment, Alan is hoping that avoidable injuries do not occur and he adds:

"No matter what you do on the training ground you need your best players and probably more importantly this week is getting some of our best players back.

"Ultimately having your best team out there wins you the games and at the moment we are calling on the squad too often and too much.

"We need to get some sort of system here where we don't get so many injuries, because we are carrying them all over the place at the moment - and we will have to look at that.

"I am hoping that that is going to settle down because I think it is unsettling bringing in players as miuch as it can put people on their toes.

"I don't want to flood the place with bodies at the moment but the ones we have got need to get the result Saturday and that is the most important thing."
