Ed: It's Up To You

Edouard Cisse says he has no problems about extending his loan spell at Upton Park - if West Ham want to.

The French midfielder, who came on a season-long deal from Paris St. Germain, says: "I am going on holiday now and after I don't know, maybe I will talk to the directors at PSG where I still have three years on my contract.

"I haven't been told at the moment if I am staying but I know they want to keep the young players.

"If I have to play all the games, why not? But I would definitely want to play more games, as you have to do if you do well.

"I would be prepared to play in the first division, but it depends on what PSG and West Ham want to do so we will see.

"I think it will be a great team next season if West Ham manage to keep their young stars and I think West Ham can go straight back up."

Edouard, who played 18 times in the league - seven as a substitute - for West Ham as well as making two starts in the FA Cup and one in the League Cup, says of the campaign: "I am as disappointed as everyone because I think we did well in the last 10 games - and in the last match it was sad for all the people.

"Maybe at the beginning of the season it went wrong when we lost a lot of points at home."

David James blames over-confidence - does he?

"It is possible, but that is not the only answer - perhaps it was a lack of opportunities to score at the start of the season," he says.

Many look back on the failure to beat Arsenal in the first home game of the season as a major factor, because the home 'duck' would have been broken straight away, and Edouard says: "Beating the champions of England would have been good for us, though ultimately, we could have lost that game - that is football.

"We lost at Bolton and that was a bad result, but talking about the past is too easy now, to mention Arsenal, West Brom or Manchester City at home."

Was he happy with his own contribution?

"Yes and no. I expected to play more for the team and tried to do my best for the team, but I am not the guy who decides."

Edouard hopes that Glenn Roeder, who brought him to the club, recovers quickly from the surgery he goes in for on Friday, and adds: "He is a nice guy and he didn't deserve what happened. He is really young, 47, and trained with us all the time so that is why it is a surprise."
