Glenn Roeder says that a report claiming the club are considering a
bid for Fredi Kanoute from Paris St. Germain is not true.
As deadline day passed without activity for West Ham - and, for that matter, most Premiership clubs - Glenn says: "It is all speculation and there has been no contact from PSG.
"He is one of six or seven players you want to build a team around, and he often hasn't had the credit he deserves this season.
"And that is not to mention his goals, just a fraction off one in every two games, which is good going in anyone's language."
Fredi recently admitted that he doesn't read the newspapers, and is often surprised when friends tell him what is being written about him.
He also said that he is happy at West Ham having seen a solid foundation being built for the future in Glenn Roeder's first season in charge.
