Two experienced left-backs are the subject of Opta's latest head-to-head as West Ham travel to White Hart Lane looking to increase their lead over London neighbours Tottenham in the Premiership table.
Both Christian Ziege and Nigel Winterburn have been in consistently good form for their respective clubs this season and are a shining example to some of their younger team-mates.
Ziege in particular has shown why Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle was so persistent in his attempts to bring the German to the club last summer. His rampaging performances down the left-hand side have given Hoddle's team much needed width and offered a cutting thrust from the flanks that Stephen Carr used to offer from the opposite side in recent seasons, before injury wiped out the Irishman's campaign in 2001-02.
The former Liverpool ace has set up six goals for his colleagues in the Premiership this term and no individual has claimed more assists than Ziege in a Spurs shirt. Such displays have made him an almost certainty to be selected in Germany's World Cup squad this summer.
Manager Rudi Voller even made him captain for the friendly with the United States in Rostock a couple of weeks ago following the absence of regular skipper Oliver Kahn. But while Ziege is hugely popular with the Spurs supporters, one man who will not enjoy such a good reputation on Saturday is Hammers defender Nigel Winterburn.
The 38-year-old veteran who spent the majority of his career at local rivals Arsenal can expect a few taunts for his Highbury connections, but that will not faze this most dedicated of professionals.
A hugely intelligent player his 77% passing accuracy is the most superior by a West Ham regular this season and his ability to keep hold of the ball was a frustrating factor for Spurs in their dozens of north London derbies in which Winterburn played against them.
However, this will be the last time he faces them in a claret and blue shirt as the former England international is to quit the club in the summer and may continue further down the league structure. The likes of Czech star Vladimir Labant will then be expected to get a more starring role in Glenn Roeder's team in the near future.
Winterburn missed the defeat at home to Spurs in November, but the bookies offer 11/4 on the Hammers getting revenge on Saturday with a win and thus increasing their lead over their city rivals in the Premiership table to four points.
