Reserves Defeated

West Ham reserves lost 2-1 to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Roger Cross says his side were unlucky not to get something out of the game after goalkeeper Billy McMahon was chipped twice to give Forest a 2-0 lead.

Laurent Courtois pulled one back midway through the second half and Roger insists:

"We were really unlucky not to get a draw after some good work after the break."

Hayden Foxe played his first match since breaking his finger, and Roger adds:

"He didn't do too badly but needs a few more games."

Paul Kitson did not come out for the second half after straining a thigh, and is therefore in doubt for the trip to his former club Derby County on Saturday.

TEAM: McMahon B, Byrne, Minto, Ferrante (Cascione 65), Foxe, Uddin, Newton, Garcia, Kitson (Clark 45), Riza, Courtois.

* Jermain Defoe, meanwhile, scored in a 5-0 England U21 win over Albania in Middlesbrough.
