Lampard Move Denied

West Ham MD Paul Aldridge and boss Harry Redknapp have moved swiftly to deny a report in The Sun newspaper on Saturday claiming that Frank Lampard is a £10million target for Leeds United.

Says Paul: "It's a bit of mischief - perhaps Andrew Dillon didn't have anything else to write on what must have been a quiet news day.

"We have had no approach from Leeds for Frank, nor would we court one.

"It is a total and absolute non-story. Frank has always said he is happy at West Ham; we hope he'll be even happier in the summer when we continue rebuilding the squad, of which he is such an integral part.

"We want to match the ambitions of Frank and all the players at the club and ensure that they can enjoy success with us."

Harry, who hadn't seen a copy of the story, added: "Leeds have already bought our best player this season. David O'Leary, what is he trying to do - ruin us by buying our best players?

"I dont want to sell Frank Lampard. We need to keep all our best players if we want to go anywhere. We've produced four great young players, but if we sell two of our them before the age of 22 then something is wrong."
