Roeder On Ressies

The reserve team were beaten 2-0 at Ipswich on wednesday night - but Glen Roeder says the result was flattering to the Suffolk side.

For reasons unknown, there were actually more than one man and a dog watching as an experienced Hammers side went down to two second half goals.

"It was the old cliche," says Glen.

"It's a game we shouldn't have lost, and there wasn't a lot in the teams' performances.

"Both goals came in a disappointing fashion, with the ball given away cheaply - and the next we saw of it we're kicking off again.

"The performance was varied, at times good, at other times not so good.

"Some players were good, others we would have expected better of.

"Young Billy McMahon played in goal, and made an excellent save from a terrific shot in the second minute, which showed he was awake.

"Ragnvald Soma played 90 minutes again, and he had good spells and indifferent spells.

"But, like Todorov, anything we get out of him this season will be a bonus."

Svetoslav was not involved on the night, which may suggest he is in Harry's thoughts for saturday.

Scott Minto got his second reserve game in after coming back, and will play 90 minutes next week.
