Alphonse Areola's stunning stop to deny Evan Ferguson in West Ham United's 3-1 win at Brighton & Hove Albion has been nominated for the Castrol Premier League Save of the Month for August.

Areola had to be at his very best in last month's victory on the South Coast as the Hammers ended a longstanding wait for points against the Seagulls in stunning fashion, with James Ward-Prowse, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio finding the net for the Irons.
At the other end of the pitch, the Frenchman was in inspired form to deny the hosts, pulling out excellent stops to deny the likes of Ferguson, Pascal Groß and Lewis Dunk from netting for Brighton.
It was the No23's immense, reactive save to deny Ferguson late on that particularly caught the eye, as Areola tipped the striker's powerful effort over the bar to maintain West Ham's advantage.
Areola faces tough competition in August's award, and is up against Tottenham Hotspur's Guglielmo Vicario, Jordan Pickford of Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers' José Sá, Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken and Liverpool's Alisson Becker.
