Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola has been called up by France for international fixtures against Germany and Chile later this month.
The 31-year-old has been in imperious form for West Ham United throughout 2023/24, keeping four clean sheets in 25 Premier League outings and producing a series of fine stops to aid a three-game unbeaten top-flight run in recent weeks.
Having made his France debut against four-time world champions Germany in September 2018, Areola will be hoping to add to his five caps when the teams are reacquainted in Lyon at 8pm GMT on Saturday 23 March.
Three days later, at 8pm GMT on Tuesday 26 March, Les Bleus are set to host Chile in Marseille, in their final bout of action before the squad is named for this summer’s UEFA European Championships.
Callum Marshall, who is currently out on loan at EFL Championship club West Bromwich Albion, has been included in the Northern Ireland squad for friendlies away to Romania and Scotland.
