Michail Antonio continued his impressive return to the West Ham United team with a goal in Sunday's 1-1 Premier League draw with Aston Villa - and is in no mood to let up after the international break.
The 33-year-old broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark against the Villans and had a second ruled out for handball four minutes after the restart when he was adjudged to have used his arm to turn home Jarrod Bowen’s inswinging corner.
Sunday’s goal was Antonio’s 64th Premier League goal in Claret and Blue since his switch from Nottingham Forest in 2015 - further extending his Club record - and his first for the Hammers since the 3-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in late August.
“It’s been a long time waiting [to be on the scoresheet again] and hopefully I can just go on a run now,” said Antonio.
"I’ve been out for a long time [with injury], missed a lot of football and I have really missed it as well.
"I came back and felt a bit rusty, but I feel as if I’m getting back to my usual form and now I’ve topped it off with a goal.
"I don’t really want the break right now after the performances I’ve been producing and would rather the games kept on coming"
Despite late VAR drama - which saw Jarrod Bowen have a stoppage time winner ruled out for a handball against Tomáš Souček - and an earlier Mohammed Kudus goal chalked off for a foul by the No9, Antonio is happy with a well-earned point as the Irons continue their quest for European football next season.
“I don’t think it was a foul [for Kudus' disallowed goal]. I’ve gone to block [the goalkeeper] as I normally do, and he [Emiliano Martinez] has tried to fight me because he couldn’t get around me.
"He has made his decision and that’s it at the end of the day. [For my disallowed goal] I accepted it even though my arms were in my body. I tried to actually get it out the way but I couldn't move it."
