Speaking to the Official Matchday Programme, Aaron Cresswell is the latest Hammer to try his luck with the random question generator...
How did your footballing journey begin?
I think I was eight years old when I actually started playing games, for a team called Wood Lane back in Liverpool. I started as a striker, moved back into midfield, and then it was at Liverpool where I moved from central midfield to left-back.
What is the first thing you look at on your phone in the morning?
The first app I open is Instagram. I try not to use it too much but I’m addicted to it and I spend far too much time scrolling through the feed. It’s one of those apps that I hate and love equally at the same time.

Aliens land on Earth and offer to take you to their home planet. Do you accept to go, or not, and why?
I would tell them, in perhaps less polite words, that I’ve got no interest in going with them and then I would go back to my own home.
Do you have a secret talent?
I did play the piano for a little bit and I’m gutted I didn’t stick with it. I wish I had kept it up. I started playing around six or seven years ago and it still annoys me that I didn’t keep it going. I could play ‘All of Me’ by John Legend though. I will say that Alphonse Areola is really good at the piano.
Would you rather have hands for feet or feet for hands?
That is a really tough one. I think I’d rather have hands for feet. I don’t think you could have feet for hands. It would get very confusing with the handball rule. Your feet aren’t hands, but then your elbow counts as a handball in the game. So would it be handball up until the ball hit your feet that are actually your hands? I’m overthinking this.

What is your favourite drink?
If we’re saying an alcoholic drink then I’ll go for a classic Aperol Spritz, enjoyed in the summer. An off-season treat.
What was your first job?
I actually had a paper round when I was about 13 years old. It gave me a bit of pocket money. I used to get on my bike in the afternoons after school, and sometimes at the weekends, and drop off newspapers. I only did it for a couple of months but I enjoyed it.
What were your best and worst subjects in school?
My best was PE and my worst was English. I hated English. I loved going to school, but I didn’t get on with English.

If you had a time machine, would you go forwards or backwards in time?
I would go forward on the condition that I can come back to my own time. I’d want to see what the future is like and invest in a load of stocks that would go through the roof!
Which one person has had the biggest impact on your career?
I have to say my Dad. I know a lot of people say their parents, but my Dad was the person who got me into football and then took me to all my training sessions when I was younger. So I have to say him for sticking by me, taking me everywhere I needed to go and guiding me through my career.
