The Premier League has confirmed that fixtures for the 2024/25 season will be released at 9am on Tuesday 18 June 2024.
West Ham United will be competing in the Premier League for the 30th time next term, having initially won promotion to the new competition in 1993 and spent 29 of the previous 32 seasons in England’s top flight.
Dates for all 380 matches will be released on 18 June, and the 2024/25 season will consist of 33 weekends, four midweek rounds of matches and one Bank Holiday Matchweek. However, supporters should note that the dates for all matches are subject to confirmation due to broadcast selections and other factors.
The 2024/25 season will start on Saturday 17 August 2024, 90 days after the 2023/24 Premier League campaign concludes on Sunday 19 May, with West Ham ending their season with a trip to Manchester City that day.
The final match round of the 2024/25 season will be played on 25 May 2025, when all matches will kick off simultaneously as usual.
In keeping with previous commitments made to clubs to address the congested schedule across Christmas and New Year, arrangements will be made to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds, with no club playing within 60 hours of another match. There will be no fixture on 24 December 2024.
The mid-season break has also been removed from the calendar to allow a mid-August start date for the Premier League.
This longer summer break allows all Premier League clubs to better ensure that players get a consecutive three-week break in the summer. This takes into account expert advice from medical and technical departments, which value a longer period of complete rest in the summer rather than a short break in the winter.
Summer 2024 sees international tournaments taking place in Europe, Oceania and South America, with several West Ham players expected to be called up for the UEFA European Championship (14 June-14 July) and CONMEBOL Copa América (20 June-14 July) finals.
