2023/24 Fixtures: The opening weekend's fixtures

West Ham United will travel to AFC Bournemouth for the opening match of their 2022/23 season.

The Irons enjoyed success against Gary O'Neil's men last term, registering home and away victories over the Cherries to pick up six vital Premier League points.

Following a 2-0 win over the South Coast side at London Stadium in October, David Moyes' men took a huge step towards Premier League safety with a 4-0 romp at the Vitality Stadium in April, when Michail Antonio, Paquetá, Declan Rice and Pablo Fornals all found the net.

Elsewhere on the opening weekend, the season kicks off as a whole on Friday 11 August when defending champions Manchester City head to newly-promoted Burnley, a team managed by their legendary former defender, Vincent Kompany.

On the Saturday, last season’s runners-up Arsenal host Nottingham Forest for the early 12.30pm kick-off, while Premier League new boys Luton Town travel to Brighton & Hove Albion in the first slate of 3pm starts.

Fellow promoted side Sheffield United welcome Crystal Palace to Bramall Lane, while Everton take on Fulham on the Saturday too.

The evening kick-off sees European qualifiers Newcastle United and Aston Villa go head-to-head before, on Sunday, Brentford host Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea take on Liverpool in a 4.30pm blockbuster.

The season's opening weekend concludes on Monday 14 August when Wolverhampton Wanderers head to Manchester United.
