Julen Lopetegui has made five changes to his West Ham United starting XI for Tuesday’s Premier League match away at Leicester City.
The Head Coach has shuffled his pack following the 5-2 home defeat to Arsenal on Saturday, with Vladimír Coufal and Dinos Mavropanos returning to our defence.
Edson Álvarez is handed a first league start since the start of November in midfield as Emerson and Lucas Paquetá drop to the bench, while Jean-Clair Todibo sits the game out after suffering an injury at London Stadium at the weekend.
Meanwhile, Mohammed Kudus returns from his five-game suspension to start on the left wing in place of Crysencio Summerville, while Danny Ings is named in the starting XI for the first time since April’s 3-1 home defeat to Fulham, with Michail Antonio named among the nine substitutes.
Germany centre-forward Niclas Füllkrug is named in the matchday squad for the first time since August’s 3-1 defeat to Manchester City having recovered from a complex Achilles injury suffered on international duty in September.
Łukasz Fabiański continues between the sticks behind a four-man defence, with Maximilian Kilman partnering Mavropanos, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Coufal occupy the defensive flanks.
Ahead of them, Álvarez and Tomáš Souček will anchor the midfield, with Kudus, Carlos Soler and Jarrod Bowen filling the three attacking midfield positions behind Ings.
With eight goals and seven assists, Bowen has been directly involved in 15 goals in his last 18 top-flight appearances against newly-promoted sides, and scored in the 2-2 draw at King Power Stadium in February 2022.
Paquetá could make his 100th appearance for West Ham at King Power Stadium should he appear from the substitutes’ bench.
The bench will be filled by teenage centre-back Kaelan Casey, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, full-back Emerson, midfielders Guido Rodríguez and Paquetá, wingers Luis Guilherme and Summerville and strikers Füllkrug and Antonio.
