Liverpool (H) – Sunday 29 September 2024
The first home fixture of the new season is always an exciting one!
When Rehanne Skinner’s Hammers take to the field at the end of September, it will have been just short of five months since the team’s last home match.
Last season’s home fixture ended in a 1-1 draw at Chigwell Construction Stadium, with Riko Ueki continuing her good early season form by notching a late equaliser to ensure the spoils would be shared .
It will be the first chance that the home crowd will be able to welcome new signings Kinga Szemik and Camila Sáez too!
A fixture against Liverpool always involves familiar faces, with Liverpool having former West Ham players Leanne Kiernan and Grace Fisk in their squad for the 2024/25 season. Off the pitch, they have former boss Matt Beard in the dugout as well as former General Manager Russ Fraser overseeing the Reds.
Arsenal (H) – Sunday 20 October 2024
The women’s team’s first London derby of the season will take place on matchday five, with Arsenal making the short trip across the capital to east London.
In 2023/24, the Hammers secured a historic first-ever win against Arsenal, beating them 2-1 in Dagenham thanks to goals from Viviane Asseyi and Hawa Cissoko.
West Ham fans will be hoping to repeat what was a memorable feat when the Gunners come to town on Sunday 20 October.
Aston Villa (A) – Sunday 15 December 2024
Skinner’s side will head to Villa Park for their final league fixture before the WSL pauses for the Christmas and New Year period.
The Villans announced recently that all their home matches in the WSL will be held at Villa Park throughout 2024/25. A ground that the Irons have played at twice previously over the past four seasons since Villa gained promotion to the top division.
Villa embark on the new campaign with new manager Robert de Pauw at the helm, with the Dutchman arriving from Bayer Leverkusen, whom he guided to a sixth placed finish in the Frauen-Bundesliga last term.
Chelsea (H) – Sunday 19 January 2025
After the aforementioned Christmas and New Year pause, West Ham’s WSL campaign will resume with the champions making the trip east.
Whilst the Hammers were on the losing side in all three of their matches against the Blues last season, all three were incredibly tight matches. The closest of those came in January 2024, where the Irons pushed Chelsea all the way in the fourth round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup, eventually losing 3-1 in extra time.
Sonia Bompastor will be hoping that her Chelsea side can secure a record sixth consecutive WSL title in what is her debut season in the dugout after the departure of legendary manager Emma Hayes.
Crystal Palace (A) – Sunday 27 April 2025
The women’s team will head to the VBS Community Stadium in their penultimate away game before the campaign concludes. It will be the Irons’ first ever visit to the ground, which is also home to Vanarama National League side Sutton United.
Palace will be competing in the WSL for the first time having won the Barclays Women’s Championship last term. Under the stewardship of Laura Kaminski, they will be hoping to avoid a return to the second tier, and the tie at the end of April could be an important fixture for them in that quest.
There will also be a reunion with Izzy Atkinson, who left West Ham in January to join the Eagles.
