Matchday Gallery | Hammers pegged back late on to draw with Southampton

West Ham United were denied a first win in six Premier League matches by Lesley Ugochukwu's stoppage-time leveller for Southampton at London Stadium on Saturday.

Jarrod Bowen's strike early in the second half looked set to give his side all three points, but they could not finish the visitors off and were made to pay the penalty at the end.

Following a low-key opening period, the Irons broke at pace in the 47th minute, with Niclas Füllkrug feeding Bowen in the right-hand channel for the No20 to cut onto his left foot and finish in trademark style.

Prior to that, the closest the Hammers had come was through Füllkrug's early effort, when he poked a Lucas Paquetá cross goalward, but Aaron Ramsdale made the save.

At the other end, Kamaldeen Sulemana struck the crossbar with an instinctive snapshot following a half-cleared set piece, and Southampton gained their reward at the end when Ugochukwu volleyed home.
