Callum Marshall

Loan Watch | Goal for Marshall and wins for Dolaghan and Terry

Three of West Ham United Academy’s loanees saw midweek action across the English football pyramid…

In EFL League One, Callum Marshall scored his eighth goal of the season for Huddersfield Town, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide as the Terriers fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Wigan Athletic.

Goals from Owen Dale and Dale Taylor in the first half left Michael Duff’s team chasing the game in the second. Despite the two Northern Irish strikers Dion Charles and Marshall combining for an early goal after the break, Huddersfield were unable to mount a comeback.

Making his 32nd consecutive League One appearance since joining on loan, 24 of which have been starts, Marshall now has 12 goal contributions in all competitions for the West Yorkshire side.

Brad Dolaghan’s Aldershot Town moved three points clear of the Vanarama National League relegation zone with a 3-1 victory over Solihull Moors, thanks to first-half goals from Cameron Hargreaves, Aaron Jones and Ryan Jones.

Dolaghan replaced goalscorer Hargreaves with just under half-an-hour left as the Shots saw out their second straight league win.

In National League South, goalkeeper Mason Terry’s Hornchurch also celebrated their second straight win after coming from behind to beat Enfield Town 3-1, moving them 14 points clear of the relegation zone in their first season back in the sixth tier since 2013.

Doing his bit between the sticks, Terry’s Urchins boast the joint-fourth best defensive record in the 24-team division.
