Cape Town Hammers is an Official West Ham United Supporters' Club, founded in 2006 to bring Hammers fans in Cape Town together.
In 2006, Barrie Smith founded the Cape Town Hammers. What started as a handful of West Ham fans watching in the corner of the pub, grew into a loud and proud Claret and Blue army. In December 2024, Barrie handed over the captain's armband to Chace Brand. Chace, a "tech savvy soccer savant", grew the group's social media presence and continues to wave the Cape Town Hammers' flag on national television as a regular guest on the breakfast show, "Expresso".
