Belfast Hammers is an Official West Ham United Supporters' Club, founded in 1999 to bring Hammers fans in Belfast together.
Belfast Hammers: Proudly Supporting West Ham Since 1999
Founded in 1999, the Belfast Hammers have grown from a small group of dedicated supporters into one of Northern Ireland’s most respected, inclusive and community‑driven football clubs. Built on passion, friendship and a shared love for West Ham United, the club has spent more than two decades proving that football can unite people across backgrounds, identities and traditions.
Our journey is captured in the acclaimed supporters’ book The Only Religion Is West Ham, written by our Founder and Chairman Peter O’Prey. The book celebrates the culture, humour and loyalty of West Ham fans worldwide - and proudly highlights the Belfast Hammers as a leading example of cross‑community spirit and long‑standing dedication.
Legends Events That Define the Club
The Belfast Hammers have become renowned for hosting hugely successful Legends Events, bringing claret‑and‑blue icons to Belfast for unforgettable nights of storytelling, humour and history. These events — featuring greats such as Phil Parkes, Steve Lomas, Mark Ward, and others — consistently sell out and attract supporters from across Northern Ireland. They’ve become a cornerstone of our identity: professional, welcoming, and rooted in the traditions of West Ham United.
Inclusion & Diversity at the Heart of Who We Are
From day one, the Belfast Hammers were built as a cross‑community supporters’ club, welcoming members from every part of Belfast and beyond. Today, that ethos remains central. Our events, meet‑ups and matchday gatherings are designed to be open, safe and inclusive for all — regardless of background, age, identity or experience.
We are proud to be a club where everyone feels part of the family, and where diversity strengthens the community we’ve built over 25+ years.
