- Tore was born in Cologne in Germany but to Turkish parents, and he has gone on to represent Turkey at international level
- The winger has represented his country from U15 to senior level, and has 26 full caps
- After spells in Germany as a youngster with SV Adler Dellbrück and Bayer Leverkusen, Tore joined Premier League side Chelsea when he was 17
- Tore made his Blues debut in a friendly against Crystal Palace in July 2010, but never played a competitive fixture
- After returning to Germany to join Hamburg, Tore enjoyed a spell from 2012 to 2014 in Russia with Rubin Kazan
- A successful loan spell with Besiktas in 2013/14 – who were being managed by current Hammers boss Slaven Bilic – led to a permanent transfer the following campaign
- Tore played 35 times for the Turkish club last season, scoring six times, as they clinched the league title
- Those six goals added to the 13 he had already scored in the previous two campaigns for the Super Lig champions
- He becomes the Hammers’ third summer signing after the Club moved quickly to capture Havard Nordtveit and Sofiane Feghouli
